Bakery

At Otto, we are proud supporters of the Real Bread Campaign, meaning we bake using only 3 local ingredients: Marriages flour from Chelmsford, Maldon Sea Salt, and filtered water.

The flour we use to make our bread is grown in the fields that surround the village and within a 30-mile radius of Chelmsford, Essex.

Our sourdough loaves are a traditional style with a consistent crumb (no large wholes everywhere!), a medium crust strength and a slight tangy taste.

 

We also bake our signature sourdough cinnamon buns, handmade focaccia and more.

Our Process & Ethos

We’re lucky to be based within 15 miles of a world-class salt producer and one of the UK’s largest flour mills — and we put those ingredients to good use in our very own Essex Sourdough. Every element of it is sourced locally, never leaving the county. By championing local suppliers and keeping food miles to a minimum, we’re proud to support our community while serving food you can feel good about.
